“ A great Italian restaurant with huge space and a roof top bar where you can hang out while waiting for your table to be ready. The vibe is energetic and a definitely dress up night. Customer service is awesome. The staff were all nice and friendly. Food wise - everything we ordered was great. We were a group of 5 and we shared everything we ordered. The desserts were to die for. Valet is behind the restaurant - you have to walk a bit. I definitely recommend this place. ”
“ I was so excited to try this restaurant and it lived up to the hype. Everything that we tried was spectacular the ambience of the restaurant was gorgeous and elegant. There was so many delicious and unique desserts to choose from. We obviously had to get more than one. The pizza was a highlight of my dinner. Was light with a delicious crispy crust. And with just the right amount of sauce, which was amazing as well. Can't wait to go back and try another dish. Just a note for anyone looking to make a reservation, definitely try to get an early reservation. They only make a set number of specific dishes that have the hand rolled pasta just because making the pasta rash is the quite tedious task, and they would rather not have any wasted! Overall 10 out of 10. ”
“ I psyched myself up a little too much to go to Funke. Best made pasta I've had in the US? Possibly. Agnolotti is an explosion of flavor and brown butter is delicious with it. The Tagliatelle is just exquisite thought the bolognese is just a bit too salty for me. I would have loved to see a seasonal Tajarin al tartufo on the menu. Also wish there were a tasting menu or I had two friends along to split all the handmade pasta options in one sitting. My two dishes made for a solid dinner. I probably could have gotten an appetizer as well. Service at bar was good and food comes from the kitchen quickly so you can incrementally order dinner without losing much time. Valet parking is $17 before tip. Wished they had put that on their website as I felt committed by the time I saw that after turning in at sign that just said Funke valet. The direction I came in didn't have street parking but as I left I noticed metered street parking on the street behind that would have saved me the $20. ”
“ Love experiencing our local Michelin star but this didnt feel deserving of a star. Three of us ate through the menu... squash blossoms, focaccia, artichokes, 2 pizzas (lemon and sausage) and 3 pastas. All was good. None outstanding. Adding wine, our okay experience got super expensive. We live in the South Bay but love to check out nearby Michelins. We had a great time but, this wasn't a Michelin experience. ”
“ I came here for a private event and my friend chose a pre-fixed menu for us. We intentionally came early to grab drinks on the rooftop to check it out. The vibe was lively. It was a bit chilly so definitely wear a coat in the evening. My favorite dishes were: - focaccia - squash blossoms (amazing) - sea bass (perfectly cooked) - funghi pizza Least favorites: - prime rib eye (it was very very rare) - cacio e pepe (it was very al dente) The private room was, well... private, but also had windows where we could see into the rest of the restaurant, which I loved, because it was a dark space. The service was very attentive. They coursed the food well and the wine was flowing all night. ”
“ we had the LAST reservation of the night. negative: they ran out of some pastas and foccacia by the time we got there. -1 star because squash blossoms have been done by others. my brother said it'd be better if they put some shrimp or something in the squash blossoms to take it to the next level. +1 star because the service by our person (captain?) (sorry my menopause brain sucks at remembering names) was so energetic and enthusiastic at 9:30pm on a thursday night! He had to turn over his shift to someone else who was not as enthusiastic He knew the menu well and made several suggestions which he basically said, we order everything you suggested + a few I wanted to try. service: impressive that someone noticed that someone spilled water on my husband's plate and they changed that out before we even used the plate/ate from it! food: my husband said everything was amazing! It was pretty amazing. we got burrata with persimmon: the persimmons were like like squishy sugar! squash blossoms: deep fried, filled with ricotta, NOT greasy. shrimp with green sauce: yummy! focaccia house special. it was like a pizza with red sauce, meat, onions on it lemon pizza: unique, had to be tried. fresh, lighter because of the lemon but I want to try the margherita pizza next time perfect crust branzino: perfectly cooked. crispy, no bones, we devoured it even though we were stuffed pasta: love that he acknowledges all the nonas that he learned from! tagliatelle with ragu: yummy. cacio e pepe: cooked al dente, perfectly spaghetti arrabbiata: spicy but not too spicy dessert: loved that it was not tiramisu (I don't like soggy) ambiance: upscale diner because the seats/booths felt that way. but fancy b/c beverly hills and cool lights, though some were out. "hip/happening" location because rooftop bar ”
“ Overall a good experience. A solid 4.0/5. With appetizers, drinks, entrees, and dessert it was about $125/person. Recommend the squash blossoms, lemon pizza, and the arrabbiata pasta as the MUST order. We were underwhelmed by the tagliatelle bolognese (sauce flavor was underwhelming, but pasta texture was excellent) and the agnolotti (at $50 for the plate, we felt it was under seasoned). Service was okay, although I felt our waitress was short and we felt a bit rushed whenever she asked if we needed anything. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable and we were seated about 10-15 mins after our reservation time. ”
“ The rooftop bar is the way to enjoy the Funk vibe. We got seated immediately. We had a reservation in the main dining room but chose to eat upstairs at the bar. The pink quartz bar and open-air environment were undeniably inviting. Bar Funke was fun and the dishes came out on time and with and with a nice cadence. I really enjoyed the new Amalfi pizza on the menu-- additionally, their spin on thin crust says, "Hi, I'm not trying too hard." I love it! My favorite style of pizza is an authentic NYC slice. Funke balanced their pizza flavors well. I wasn't sure how the lemon and onion would taste. They pulled it off. All in all, I knew the pasta was going to be spectacular. So, I tried the pizza too. They didn't try to complicate the recipe. Therefore, the pizza paired very well the entire meal. Plus, the prices aren't over the top like other places in the area. ”
“ This was one of my favorite meals of the year! After seeing Chef's Table Noodles, we couldn't wait to grab a reservation. The food was outstanding, service phenomenal and overall ambiance was perfect. We ordered the squash blossoms, focaccia, lemon linguine, and ricotta gnocchi. For dessert we ended with the marzipan and cherry gelato. ”
